BYBSA Umpire Program

In 2021 the BYBSA revived our Umpire Program. 

We have teamed up with current Pac-12 Umpire, Travis Reininger to offer multiple Umpire Camps every year. 

With the help of Travis the BYBSA has had over 200 umpires attend our Umpire Camps since 2021

In 2024 we will add Fastpitch Softball specific training to our Umpire Camps

In 2023 the BYBSA assigned umpires for over 1,200 games for our Rec, Comp and Fall Baseball & Softball league games and tournaments.

BYBSA games are played in Brighton, Ft. Lupton, Strasburg, Bennett, Byers, Thornton, Commerce City, Broomfield and Westminster.

In addition to BYBSA games we have partnered with the following tournament organizations to use BYBSA umpires when they host tournament in Brighton and nearby cities.

- Indian Peaks Girls Softball Association

- USSSA Baseball

- Triple Crown Baseball

- CABA Colorado Baseball

The BYBSA pays our umpires using Direct Deposit every Wednesday for all of the games that they worked the previous week.

We pay the following per game

- Rec, Comp & Fall  - Plate Umpire - $60 

- Rec, Comp & Fall - Field Umpire - $60

- Machine Pitch & 8U Softball - $40

- High School Baseball Plate & Field - $80

Must be at least 14 years old to ump for the BYBSA

BYSBA Scorekeeper Program 

Now that we have score boards at Pawlowski Fields, the Brighton Adult Sports Complex and several other fields that we host BYBSA games at we have decided to start a BYBSA Scorekeeper Program.

We will have multiple Scorekeeper Classes each year. 

BYBSA Scorekeepers will be paid $25 per game to keep score and run the scoreboard.

All new BYBSA Umpires will be required to be a scorekeeper for 8 games before they can ump a game.
